Scene ideas!!!

Locations:
. CSI style – interrogation room
. Bedroom – friends talking to each other in room or family.
. Classroom – teacher and student
. Panic room
. Mental hospital

Final idea:
. Link CSI and mental hospital ideas. Have the criminal in the room with a security guard and the investigator walks in. Has a conversation/interrogation. Criminal smiles sadistically and giggles at moments during the interrogation. Investigator walks out meets someone else in the corridor.

Preliminary brief:.......16/11/08

Continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, whith whom he/she then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180' rule.

180 degree rule:
.The 180' rule, also called the line of action, states that both characters in the scene must be filmed from the same side from each shot in the scene. For example two men cant be filmed where the brown haired man was on the left and then the next shot he was on the right.

Match on action:
.Parts of scenes that hav been jump cut and so the scene must follow on with no mistakes for example a change of clothes or things that weren't there before.An example of this would be if a man was weearing glasses one minute and not the next without having appeared to have taken them off.






Shot reverse shot:
.Shot reverse shot, also know as over the shoulder shot. Shots that have been taken over characters shoulders to make it seem as if they are speaking to each other face to face.
